The ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene project of China Chemical Technology Research Institute completed the first polymerization experiment in Beijing Research and Development base recently. And the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber material was successfully prepared.

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) has incomparable comprehensive characteristics such as wear resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, low temperature resistance, super tensile and small density compared with other engineering plastics. At present, foreign products have been applied to profiles, films, fibers and other fields, and the consumption of domestic UHMWPE resin is still concentrated in the market of low and middle-end products. To realize the high-end of domestic UHMWPE, it is necessary to develop the catalytic technology with independent intellectual property rights and the polymerization process to adapt to the production of UHMWPE.
